Rollover Recovery in Gallup, NM & on I-40

Uprighting and recovery for overturned cars, pickups, semis and tractor-trailers, with cargo recovery, on I-40 and nearby highways.

A rollover is one of the most complicated calls in towing. The vehicle has to be uprighted without causing more damage, the cargo has to be dealt with, and the road usually needs to reopen as soon as it safely can. A&A Towing handles rollover recovery around the clock for cars, pickups, SUVs, semis and tractor-trailers in Gallup, Grants and along I-40, plus the highways around them, including US-491, NM-118 and NM-122.

How a rollover recovery works

It starts with your call to (505) 862-7114. Tell dispatch where the vehicle is, what it is (a car, a pickup, or a tractor pulling a van, reefer, flatbed or tanker), whether it is loaded, and whether police or fire are already on scene. For trucks, the commodity and approximate weight matter a lot.

When we arrive, our operators look at how the vehicle is lying, the ground under it and how the load has settled. A car or pickup can often be uprighted directly. A loaded tractor-trailer may need its load assessed or partly removed before the unit can be stood back up. If cargo has spilled, we recover it and work with law enforcement to clear the scene. Once the vehicle is upright, we tow it to the repair shop of your choice or to our secure yard, and cargo can be held there while you or your insurer arrange the next step.

What to do while you wait

  • Call 911 first if anyone is hurt or trapped, or if the vehicle is blocking lanes.
  • If you can get out safely, move well away from the vehicle and from traffic. Do not go back for belongings.
  • Watch for leaking fuel or other fluids, and keep people, cigarettes and flares away from them.
  • Do not try to roll the vehicle back over or drag it with another vehicle.
  • Let your dispatcher, fleet manager or insurance company know a recovery is under way, and give them our number.

Rollover Recovery FAQ

Can you recover a loaded tractor-trailer rollover?

Yes. Heavy-duty work is our specialty. Tell dispatch what is in the trailer and roughly how much it weighs so we can plan the recovery before we arrive.

Do you upright cars and pickups too?

Yes. We recover overturned cars, pickups and SUVs as well as semis and tractor-trailers, then tow them to the shop of your choice or to our secure yard.

What happens to the cargo?

Cargo recovery is part of the job. Recovered freight can be stored in our secure yard until the owner, carrier or insurer arranges pickup. If hazardous materials may be involved, tell 911 and our dispatcher right away.

Should I call 911 or A&A Towing first?

If anyone is hurt or the road is blocked, call 911 first. Then call us at (505) 862-7114, or have your dispatcher call, so we can start planning the recovery.

Do you work with insurance companies?

Yes. We coordinate with insurance providers and adjusters and accept all major fleet and motorist pay options.
